Exchange Rate

NuMetric allows businesses to operate using their home currency as the primary accounting base, while still displaying totals in an additional foreign currency for invoicing purposes.

How to Configure Custom Exchange Rates in NuMetric

Easily manage and customize currency exchange rates directly from your settings. This allows you to control how foreign currency values are reflected in your regular invoices, ensuring easy read as an additional foreign currency.

1. Access Settings

Go to Settings from your dashboard.

2. Open Exchange Rate Settings

Click on Exchange Rate.


Add new currency

3. Add a New Currency

Click + Add custom exchange rate.

4. Select Currency

Type or select the currency you want to add (e.g., USD).

5. Choose Exchange Rate Type

You have two options:

  • Auto Rate
    Automatically updated based on Open Exchange Rates.

  • Manual Rate
    Enter a fixed rate based on your preference.

For this example, we will use Auto Exchange Rate.

6. Save the Exchange Rate

Click Save.
The exchange rate is now available for use.

Add another currency

7. Add Another Currency

Click + Add custom exchange rate again.

8. Select Another Currency

Choose a different currency (e.g., EUR).

9. Set Manual Exchange Rate

Select Manual and enter your desired rate.
Example:
1 JOD = 1.22 EUR

10. Save the Rate

Click Save.
The manual rate is now active.

You can update any currency at any time:

  • Change from Auto → Manual

  • Change from Manual → Auto

Simply update your selection and click Save.

12. View Exchange Rate List

All added currencies and their rates will appear in the Exchange Rate List.

Notes

  • NuMetric operates as a single-currency system, with exchange rates used for display and reporting purposes.

  • Changes to exchange rates apply going forward and do not retroactively update historical transactions.


How to Add a Currency Exchange Value to a Regular Invoice

Learn how to include an additional currency value when creating a regular invoice in NuMetric. This feature allows you to display the invoice total in another currency while maintaining your base currency for accounting.

1. Start Creating an Invoice

Go to Sales → Invoices and begin creating a new invoice.

2. Add Currency Exchange

Before finalizing the invoice, click Add Currency Exchange.

3. Select Currency

Choose a currency from your configured exchange rate list (e.g., USD).

Note: Only currencies added in Settings → Exchange Rate will appear here.

4. Create the Invoice

Click Create Invoice to finalize.

5. View Exchange Value on Invoice

Once the invoice is created, the additional currency value will appear under the total.

Example:
JOD 1.000 = USD 1.410
