"services you sell" can be added to your inventory for easier billing, tracking, and reporting. These items represent non-physical offerings such as labor, consulting, or digital work. Each service entry includes details like name, unit, category, income account, and pricing to ensure accurate sales records and financial reporting.
Examples of services you sell:
Consulting Hours – Billed hourly for business or legal advisory.
Maintenance or Repair – Technical or equipment repair services.
Training Session – Educational or skills development sessions.
Digital Services – Website design, software development, or graphic design.
Step by Step:
1. Go to Inventory in the left-side menu.
2. Click Items.
3. Click Create Item
4. Select Add Item.
5. In the Item Name field, enter the service name.
6. Add a brief Description of the service.
7. Under Type, choose Service.
8. For “Do you sell this item?”, select Yes.
9. Choose the relevant Income Account to link service revenue.
10. Choose a Sales Income Account specific to the service.
11. Assign a Category to the item.
To add a new category, simply type the name in the field and press Enter to save.
12. Choose the Unit of service (e.g., Hour, Session, Unit).
13. Enter the Selling Price.
14. Select the Sales Tax if applicable (leave blank if not registered).
15. Click Save to complete item creation.
